Ingredients

  • 2½ cups (538 g) dried navy beans
  • 2 tbsps (120 g) molasses
  • ¼ cup (60 g) brown sugar
  • ¼ pound (115 g) low-salt bacon
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

Method

  1. Boil beans for 30 minutes to soften
  2. Place beans in slow cooker
  3. Add remaining ingredients
  4. Cook for 10 hours on low, stirring every 3 hours or so
  5. Yield: 6 servings
  6. Per serving: 56 g water; 304 calories (25% from fat, 17% from protein, 58% from carb)
