Ingredients
- 1 cup (200 g) sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- 1½ cinnamon sticks
- ½ teaspoon allspice
- 1 cup (235 ml) water
- 950 ml orange juice
- 2½ quarts (2.4 L) apple cider or juice
- 1½ cups (355 ml) lemon juice
Method
- Mix the first four ingredients in a saucepan
- Stir in water and simmer until sugar dissolves, stirring constantly
- Add orange juice, apple cider, and lemon juice to sugar mixture
- Transfer to slow cooker and cook on low for 2 hours
- Serve warm or cool
- Refrigerate to serve chilled
- Yield: 12 servings
- Per serving: 301 g water; 206 calories (2% from fat, 2% from protein, 96% from carb)
