Simple Shrimp Creole Slow Cooker Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups (150 g) sliced celery
  • 1¼ cup (200 g) chopped onion
  • 1 cup (150 g) chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 can (8 ounces, or 225 g) no-salt-added tomato sauce
  • 1 can (28 ounces, or 785 g) no-salt-added whole tomatoes, broken up
  • ½ teaspoons minced garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • drops hot pepper sauce
  • 1 pound (455 g) shrimp, peeled

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients except shrimp
  2. Cook 3 to 4 hours on high or 6 to 8 hours on low
  3. Add shrimp during the last hour of cooking
  4. Serve over hot rice
  5. Yield: 6 servings
  6. Per serving: 293 g water; 139 calories (11% from fat, 50% from protein, 39% from carb)
