Oatmeal Cake Recipe

Ingredients

  • Serving Size : 1
  • 1 1/4 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup quick oats – dry
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Method

  1. Pour boiling water over quick oats; add oleo and let stand for 20 minutes.
  2. Add rest of ingredients.
  3. Bake in 9×13 inch pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
  4. TOPPING: 6 tsp butter 1/4 Cup cream 1/2 Cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla 1 Cup chopped nuts 1 Cup coconut
  5. Mix and spread on cake.
  6. Put under broiler for 2 or 3 minutes.
