Ingredients
- 1½ pounds (680 g) beef round steak
- ½ teaspoon oregano
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup (160 g) coarsely chopped onion
- 425g low-salt spaghetti sauce
Method
- Cut steak into 6 pieces
- In a bowl, mix together oregano and pepper
- Sprinkle over both sides of pieces of meat
- Place the meat into the slow cooker
- Sprinkle with chopped onion
- Spoon spaghetti sauce over top, being careful not to disturb the seasoning and onions
- Cover and cook on low 5 to 8 hours or until the meat is tender but not overcooked
- Yield: 6 servings
- Per serving: 158 g water; 232 calories (28% from fat, 48% from protein, 24% from carb)
