Ingredients
- 3 pounds (1.3 kg) extra-lean ground beef
- 150 ml fat-free evaporated milk
- 1 cup (80 g) rolled or quick cooking oats
- 1 cup (100 g) cracker crumbs
- ½ cup (120 ml) egg substitute
- ½ cup (80 g) chopped onion
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Method
- Combine all ingredients
- Shape into walnut-sized balls
- Place on waxed paper-lined cookie sheets
- Freeze
- When fully frozen, place in a resealable plastic bag and store in freezer until needed
- When ready to use, place frozen meatballs in slow cooker
- Cover and cook on high as you mix up the sauce or whatever accompaniment you are using
- Yield: 12 servings
- Per serving: 96 g water; 322 calories (58% from fat, 31% from protein, 11% from carb)
