Ingredients
- 360 g sliced onions
- 3 whole cloves
- 3 pounds (1.3 kg) reduced-sodium boneless ham
- 475 ml water
- 2 cups (500 g) barbecue sauce
Method
- Place half of the onions in bottom of slow cooker
- Stick cloves in ham and place it on top of onions in slow cooker
- Put the rest of the onions on top
- Add water
- Cook on low 10 to 12 hours
- Shred or cut up meat and onion
- Put back into slow cooker
- Add barbecue sauce
- Cook 4 to 6 hours more
- Yield: 24 servings
- Per serving: 83 g water; 101 calories (15% from fat, 41% from protein, 43% from carb)
