Scalloped Oysters Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pint oysters
- 1/2 cup oyster liquor (the liquid oysters are sold in)
- 2 tbsp. light cream
- 1/2 cup white bread crumbs
- 1 cup cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- salt.
- pepper.
Method
- Preheat oven to 400F
- Mix bread and cracker crumbs with melted butter
- Spread thin layer of crumbs on bottom of greased shallow baking dish
- Cover with half of oysters, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and add half of cream and oyster liquor
- Repeat layers, and cover top with crumbs
- Bake for 30 minutes
- If you increase the quantities, use a larger dish and still only two layers
