Ingredients

  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup (235 ml) water
  • 1 pound (455 g) ham, sliced
  • 320 g thinly sliced onions
  • 1 cup (120 g) grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (280 g) low-salt cream of mushroom soup
  • paprika

Method

  1. Toss sliced potatoes in cream of tartar and water
  2. Drain
  3. Put half of ham, potatoes, and onions in slow cooker
  4. Sprinkle with grated cheese
  5. Repeat with remaining half of ham, potatoes, and onions
  6. Spoon undiluted soup over top
  7. Sprinkle with paprika
  8. Cover and cook on low 8 to 10 hours or on high 4 hours
  9. Yield: 8 servings
  10. Per serving: 378 g water; 435 calories (22% from fat, 21% from protein, 57% from carb)
