Pollock Chowder Seafood Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds pollock fillets — thawed if necessary
  • 1 cup onion — chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery — sliced
  • 1 clove garlic — minced
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 14 1/2-ounce cans tomatoes (14 1/2 to 16-ounce cans)
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine

OR:

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano — crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • dash bottled hot pepper sauce.

Method

  1. Cut pollock into large chunks
  2. Saute onion, celery and garlic in oil
  3. Add tomatoes including liquid, water, wine and seasonings
  4. Bring to boil; simmer 10 minutes
  5. Add pollock; simmer, covered, about 10 minutes or until fish flakes when tested with a fork
