Good Old Vanilla Recipe

Ingredients

  • Serving Size : 1
  • 2 Cups Milk
  • 3/4 Cup Sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons Flour
  • 1 Dash Salt
  • 2 Eggs – beaten
  • 2 Teaspoons Vanilla
  • 2 Cups Heavy Cream – or half and half

Method

  1. Combine milk, sugar, flour and salt in a 2-quart batter bowl.
  2. Using a wire whisk to stir midway through cooking, microwave on high 5 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
  3. Pour about 1/4 of the heated mixture into eggs; blend thoroughly.
  4. Pour egg mixture into hot mixture.
  5. Whisking midway through cooking, microwave on 70% (medium high) for 2 minutes, or until thickened.
  6. Cool to room temperature.
  7. Stir in vanilla and cream.
  8. Pour into ice cream canister.
  9. Chill until mixture is cold.
  10. Freeze in ice cream maker according to manufacturer’s directions.
