Fruited Tea Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients

Serving Size : 1

  • 1/2 cup Borden Country Store Butter – softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 cups unsifted flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup raisins or currants
  • 1/4 cup chopped candied cherries – (optional)

Method

  1. Additional sugar
  2. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  3. In large mixer bowl, cream together butter, sour cream and sugar.
  4. Sift or stir together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in raisins and if desired cherries.
  6. Using a heaping tablespoon for each, roll into balls; place on greased baking sheets and flatten lightly.
  7. Sprinkle with sugar.
  8. Bake 15 to 18 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.
