Butterscotch Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

  • Serving Size : 1
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Method

  1. Sift flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt together.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add dry ingredients, eggs and vanilla.
  4. Beat well.
  5. Add nuts.
  6. Shape into rolls; wrap in waxed paper and chill until firm.
  7. Slice thin.
  8. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees 8 to 10 minutes.
  9. Yield: 6 dozen cookies.
