- 2 tart apples – green
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- salt
- pepper
Method
- Slice or chop cabbage and onions fine.
- Saute onions in butter.
- Add sliced or chopped apples.
- Stir to prevent burning.
- Add cabbage and water.
- Cook slowly for approximately one hour.
- Add vinegar and sugar.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Preparation and cooking time: about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
