Ingredients

  • 950 ml cold water
  • 1 cup (160 g) chopped onion
  • ½ teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper (or 2 teaspoons chili powder)
  • 4 slices low-salt bacon

Method

  1. Put all ingredients in slow cooker
  2. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours and then turn to low for 8 hours
  3. Yield: 8 servings
  4. Per serving: 143 g water; 227 calories (9% from fat, 24% from protein, 66% from carb)
