Beef Brisket And Sauerkraut Recipe
Ingredients
- Serving Size : 6
- 4 pounds brisket
- hot water.
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 quart sauerkraut
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup vinegar – mild
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 medium potato – grated
- 1 teaspoon caraway seed
Method
- Cover brisket with water; season.
- Simmer for 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours.
- Add sauerkraut, vinegar and brown sugar.
- Cook 1 hour longer.
- Add potato and caraway seed.
- Cook 10 minutes longer.
- Yield 6 to 8 servings.
