My First Beef Stroganoff Recipe
Ingredients
- Serving Size : 4
- 2 pounds round steak – cut 1/2 inch thick
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup onions
- 1/2 pound mushroom – sliced
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 clove garlic – minced
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 4 tablespoons tomato sauce
- 2 cups sour cream
Method
- Cut the steak into strips 1 1/2 inches long by 1/4 inch wide.
- Melt the butter in a skillet, saute the onions 5 minutes, add the meat and let brown.
- Mix the mushrooms, salt, pepper, garlic, worcestershire sauce and tomato sauce.
- Cover and cook over low heat 30 minutes or until the meat is tender
- Just before serving mix in the sour cream heat, but do not boil
- Serve with rice or noodles
