Skillet Spaghetti Recipe

Ingredients

  • Serving Size : 6
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1/3 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 clove garlic – minced
  • 1 tablespoon shortening
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 pound spaghetti – broken into 2″
  • 1 can tomatoes – cut into bite-size – pieces (1 Lb)
  • 3/4 cup Heinz Tomato Ketchup

Method

  1. In Dutch oven or large deep skillet, brown first 4 ingredients in shortening.
  2. Sprinkle with salt; stir in water.
  3. Bring mixture to a boil; add spaghetti.
  4. Cook, uncovered, 12 – 15 minutes or until spaghetti is tender.
  5. Stir in tomatoes and ketchup; simmer about 10 minutes to blend flavors.
  6. Serve with Parmesan cheese, if desired.
  7. Makes 6 – 8 servings
