Whole Wheat Bread Slow Cooker Recipe

Ingredients

  • 475 ml skim milk, warmed to 115°F 46°C
  • 2 tbsps (28 ml) canola oil
  • ¼ cup (60 g) brown sugar
  • 2¾ teaspoons (7 g) yeast
  • 2½ cups (300 g) whole wheat flour
  • 1¼ cups (171 g) bread flour

Method

  1. Mix together milk, oil, brown sugar, yeast, and half of each flour with electric mixer
  2. Stir in the remaining flour
  3. Place dough is greased bread or cake pan
  4. Cover with greased foil
  5. Place in cooker, cover, and cook on high 2½ to 3 hours
  6. Let stand 10 minutes before removing from pan
  7. Yield: 8 servings
  8. Per serving: 62 g water; 291 calories (14% from fat, 14% from protein, 71% from carb)
