Vegan Chocolate Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

Makes about 1 cup

  • 1/2 cup pure agave nectar or maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons plain or vanilla soy milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Method

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the agave nectar and cocoa, stirring until well combined
  2. Bring to a simmer over low heat, cooking for about 1 minute, stirring constantly so the cocoa does not burn
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the soy milk and vanilla, stirring until well blended
  4. The sauce is now ready to spoon or drizzle on desserts
  5. Store leftover sauce covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days
