Toll House Mud Bars Recipe

Ingredients

  • Serving Size : 1
  • 1 cup + 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 cups Nestle Toll House Semi-sweet Chocolate – divided
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
  3. In bowl, beat brown sugar, butter and vanilla extract until creamy.
  4. Add egg; beat well.
  5. Gradually add flour mixture.
  6. Stir in 1 1/3 cups chocolate morsels and nuts.
  7. Spread into foil-lined 9″ square baking pan.
  8. Bake at 375 degrees 23 to 25 minutes.
  9. Immediately sprinkle 2/3 cup chocolate morsels over top.
  10. When morsels are shiny, spread evenly.
  11. When cool, chill 5 to 10 minutes to set chocolate.
  12. Cut into 1 x 1 1/2 inch bars.
  13. Makes 36 bars.
