Ingredients

- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 pound sweet onions – sliced
- 1/4 cup good olive oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/3 cup garlic – chopped
- 1/4 cup dry marsala wine (about 12 cloves)
- fresh grated parmesan cheese
Method
- Heat butter and oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and stir briefly.
- Add onions, cover and cook until soft.
- Add honey, reduce heat to low.
- Cook uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add wine.
- Cook 5 minutes more.
- Toss with pasta, serving cheese at the table to sprinkle over.
- This is GREAT with Vidalia onions.
