Ingredients
- green bell peppers
- 1 pound (455 g) extra-lean ground beef
- ½ cup (80 g) chopped onions
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1½ cups (250 g) cooked rice
- 2 tbsps (28 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup (245 g) no-salt-added tomato sauce
Method
- Cut tops from peppers
- Carefully remove seeds and membrane
- Brown ground beef and onions in skillet over medium-high heat
- Drain
- Place meat and onions in mixing bowl
- Add pepper, rice, and Worcestershire sauce to meat and combine well
- Stuff green peppers with mixture
- Stand stuffed peppers upright in slow cooker
- Pour tomato sauce over peppers
- Cover and cook on low 5 to 7 hours
- Yield: 6 servings
- Per serving: 262 g water; 282 calories (43% from fat, 24% from protein, 33% from carb)
