Ingredients

  • 3 pounds (1.3 kg) apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • ½ cup (115 g) brown sugar
  • ½ cup (120 ml) water
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) apple juice concentrate
  • 3 tbsps (45 ml) lemon juice
  • 6-inch (15 cm) cinnamon stick, optional

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker
  2. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours
  3. Remove cinnamon stick, if used
  4. Use a potato masher to mash to desired consistency
  5. Yield: 10 servings
  6. Per serving: 137 g water; 117 calories (1% from fat, 1% from protein, 97% from carb)
