Ingredients
- 1 pound (455 g) mushrooms, sliced
- 3 pounds (1.3 kg) beef round roast
- 2 tbsps (15 g) onion soup mix
- 12 ounces (355 ml) beer
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Method
- Place the mushrooms in the bottom of a slow cooker and then set the roast on top of the mushrooms
- Sprinkle the onion soup mix over the beef and pour the beer over everything; season with black pepper
- Cover and cook on low 9 to 10 hours or until the meat easily pulls apart with a fork
- Yield: 9 servings
- Per serving: 192 g water; 221 calories (25% from fat, 69% from protein, 6% from carb)
- Serve over mashed potatoes
