Ingredients
- 1 pound (900 g) meatballs, basic or turkey
- 1 cup (240 g) low-salt ketchup
- 1 cup (225 g) packed brown sugar
- 1 can (6 ounces, or 170 g) no-salt-added tomato paste
- ¼ cup (60 ml) reduced-sodium soy sauce
- ¼ cup (60 ml) cider vinegar
- ½ teaspoon hot pepper sauce
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C, or gas mark 4)
- Place frozen meatballs on baking sheet
- Bake for 18 minutes or until brown
- Place meatballs in slow cooker
- Combine remaining ingredients and pour over meatballs
- Cover and cook on low 4 hours
- Yield: 6 servings
- Per serving: 157 g water; 533 calories (34% from fat, 21% from protein, 45% from carb)
