Sesame Honey Salmon Slow Cooker

Ingredients

Serves 4

Active Time 5 minutes

Pressure/Manual (Low) Natural/Quick Release

  • 1 pound salmon fillet
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • salt and black pepper
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Method

  1. Place the salmon in a 6-inch round heatproof pan
  2. In a small bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes and season with salt and black pepper
  3. Whisk to combine
  4. Pour the mixture over the salmon
  5. Allow the salmon to sit at room temperature for 15 to 30 minutes
  6. Pour the water into the Instant Pot
  7. Place a steamer rack in the pot
  8. Place the pan with the salmon on the rack
  9. Secure the lid on the pot
  10. Close the pressure-release valve
  11. Select MANUAL and set the pot at LOW pressure for 3 minutes
  12. At the end of the cooking time, allow the pot to sit undisturbed for 5 minutes, then release any remaining pressure
  13. Sprinkle with the sesame seeds
  14. Serve the salmon immediately, or transfer it to a baking sheet and broil for 3 to 4 minutes to get a glossy, browned finish
