Homemade Graham Crackers Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Hodgson Mill whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 egg – slightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup hot water (approx)

Method

  1. Hodgson Mill unbleached white flour
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  3. Cut butter into flour till coarse.
  4. Add sugar, soda, cream of tartar, egg and enough hot water to make dough that can be rolled like pastry.
  5. Roll 1/8 – 1/4 inch thick on a board sprinkled with a little white flour.
  6. Cut into 3 inch squares.
  7. Place on an ungreased baking sheet.
  8. Bake 15 – 20 minutes.
  9. Cool on rack.
  10. Brush tops with butter.
