Ingredients
Makes about 2 cups
- 1 large papaya, peeled, seeded and cut into 1/4-inch dice
- 1 small red onion, finely minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- pinch salt
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon black mustard seeds
Method
- In a large bowl, combine the papaya, onion, ginger and salt and set aside
- In a small skillet, heat the oil over medium heat
- Add the mustard seeds and cook a few seconds until they pop, then stir into the relish
- If not serving right away, cover and refrigerate until needed
- This relish is best if served on the same day it is made
