Fruit Chip Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cup flour
- ½ tsp. salt
- ½ cup butter
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- ½ tsp. cinnamon
- ¾ cup sugar (granulated or brown, well packed)
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. brandy extract or vanilla
- 1 cup candied fruit
- 1 cup raisins
- ½ cup chopped nuts (hazelnuts are good)
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semisweet or double chocolate)
Method
- Preheat oven to 375F
- Sift flour, baking soda and salt together
- Cream butter and sugar until light; add brandy extract, then beat in eggs one at a time
- Gradually add dry ingredients, blending well
- Stir in rest of ingredients
- Chill for at least an hour-it’s a very sticky dough
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto non-greased cookie sheet
- Bake for approximately 12 minutes
Makes about 4 dozen
