French Bread Souffle Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 C. butter, softened
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 1/2 C. maple syrup
- 2 loaves French bread, cubed
- 12 eggs
- 3 C. half-and-half
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- ground cinnamon, for dusting
- powdered sugar, for dusting
Method
- Grease 2 (7×11-inch) baking dishes with some butter
- Place bread cubes into prepared baking dishes about half way full
- In a small bowl, add the cream cheese, butter and maple syrup and mix until well combined
- In another large bowl, add the half-and-half, eggs and vanilla and beat until well combined
- Place the cream cheese mixture over bread cubes evenly, followed by the egg mixture
- Sprinkle with the cinnamon and refrigerate, covered overnight
- Set your oven to 350 degrees F
- Remove the baking dish from refrigerator and cook in the oven for about 55-60 minutes
- Remove from the oven and serve with a dusting of the powdered sugar
