Fat-Free Beef Stroganoff Recipe

Ingredients

Serving Size : 6

  • 2 Pounds Beef Tenderloin – or Sirloin Steak
  • 1/4 Cup Butter
  • 1 Can Sliced Mushrooms – drained
  • 2 Cans Beef Broth
  • 1/3 Cup Minced Onions
  • 1/4 Cup Catsup
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoons Garlic Salt
  • 1/3 Cup Flour
  • 2 Cups Sour Cream
  • 10 Ounces Noodles – uncooked
  • 3 Tablespoons Butter

Method

  1. Cut meat across the grain into 3/4″ slices, then into strips 3×1/4 inch.
  2. Melt 1/4 cup butter in large skillet.
  3. Cook and stir mushrooms in butter about 5 minutes; remove mushrooms.
  4. In same skillet, brown meat.
  5. Reserving 2/3 cup of the broth, stir in remaining broth, the onion, catsup and garlic salt.
  6. Cover and simmer 15 minutes.
  7. Blend reserved broth and the flour; stir into meat.
  8. Add mushrooms; heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
  9. Boil and stir 1 minute.
  10. Stir in sour cream; heat through.
  11. Cook noodles as directed on package; drain.
  12. Toss with 3 tbsp butter.
  13. Serve with stroganoff
