Saute; Pressure/Manual (High) Natural/Quick Release
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
- 2 tablespoons black bean garlic sauce
- 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
- 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon agave nectar or honey
- ¼ cup water
- 1½ pounds pork spareribs, cut into individual ribs
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil (optional)
- ¼ cup chopped scallions, for garnish
Method
- Select SAUTE on the Instant Pot
- When the pot is hot, add the oil
- When the oil is hot, add the garlic and ginger
- Cook, stirring continuously, for 30 seconds
- Add the black bean sauce, wine, soy sauce, agave, and water
- Stir well to combine
- Select CANCEL
- Add the spareribs and stir until the ribs are well coated with the sauce
- Secure the lid on the pot
- Close the pressure-release valve
- Select MANUAL and set the pot at HIGH pressure for 15 minutes
- At the end of the cooking time, allow the pot to sit undisturbed for 10 minutes, then release any remaining pressure
- Using a slotted spoon, transfer the ribs to a serving platter
- Drizzle with the sesame oil, if desired, sprinkle with the scallions, and serve
