Bran Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • Serving Size : 6
  • 1 1/2 Cups Flour – sifted
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 4 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg – well beaten
  • 1 Cup Buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 Cups Post Bran Flakes – rolled

Method

  1. Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder, soda, and salt, and sift again.
  2. Cream butter, add sugar; then add egg, and flour, alternately with milk.
  3. Fold in bran flakes.
  4. Bake in greased loaf pan, 9x4x3 inches, in moderate oven (350 degrees) 1 hour and 15 minutes.
