Beer Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar – optional
  • 1 can beer – at room temperature
  • 1 egg – beat w/ 1 tb water

Method

  1. Combine flour and sugar, pour in beer and stir just until dry ingredients are moist
  2. Pour batter into greased and floured loaf pan and let sit for about 15 min to rise.
  3. Dough will be very gooey.
  4. Brush top with egg mixture and bake in pre-heated 375 oven for about an hour or until pick comes out clean.
  5. When done, brush top with butter.
