Ingredients
- 4 pounds (1.8 kg) pork back ribs
- 480 g low-salt ketchup
- 1 cup (275 g) chili sauce
- ½ cup (115 g) packed brown sugar
- ¼ cup (60 ml) cider vinegar
- 2 tsps oregano
- 2 tsps Worcestershire sauce
- dash hot pepper sauce
Method
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C, or gas mark 6)
- Place ribs in a shallow baking pan
- Brown in oven 15 minutes
- Turn over and brown another 15 minutes; drain fat
- In a medium bowl, mix together the ketchup, chili sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, oregano, Worcestershire sauce, and hot pepper sauce
- Place ribs in slow cooker
- Pour sauce over ribs and turn to coat
- Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours or until ribs are tender
- Yield: 8 servings
- Per serving: 211 g water; 766 calories (64% from fat, 20% from protein, 17% from carb)
