Authentic Beef Stroganoff Slow Cooker Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1½ pounds (680 g) beef round steak, cut into strips
  • ½ cup (80 g) chopped onion
  • 1 can (280 g) low-salt cream of mushroom soup
  • 8 ounces (225 g) mushrooms, sliced
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) water 1 tablespoon (3 g) chives
  • ½ teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) white wine
  • 1 tbsp (8 g) flour
  • 460g fat-free sour cream

Method

  1. Place the beef in the bottom of slow cooker
  2. Place onion on top of beef and then add mushroom soup, mushrooms, and water
  3. Season with chives, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the wine with the flour
  5. Pour over the beef
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours
  7. Stir in the sour cream and continue cooking for 1 hour
  8. Yield: 4 servings
  9. Per serving: 373 g water; 448 calories (43% from fat, 42% from protein, 15% from carb)

Serve over noodles, garnished with chopped fresh parsley
