Applesauce Slow Cooker Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 pounds (1.3 kg) apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
- ½ cup (115 g) brown sugar
- ½ cup (120 ml) water
- ¼ cup (60 ml) apple juice concentrate
- 3 tbsps (45 ml) lemon juice
- 6-inch (15 cm) cinnamon stick, optional
Method
- Combine all ingredients in slow cooker
- Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours
- Remove cinnamon stick, if used
- Use a potato masher to mash to desired consistency
- Yield: 10 servings
- Per serving: 137 g water; 117 calories (1% from fat, 1% from protein, 97% from carb)
