Authentic Traditional Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
- Serving Size : 1
- 2 1/4 cups unsifted flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup margarine or butter – softened
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 1 cup chopped nuts
Method
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a small bowl, sift together flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
- In large mixer bowl, beat margarine, shortening and sugars until creamy.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- Add flour mixture; mix well.
- Stir in chocolate morsels and nuts.
- Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls, 2″ apart, onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Makes about 6 dozen.
