Apfelkuchen Recipe

Ingredients

Servings : 4-6 dishes.

  • 2 pounds apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1/2 cup solid coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup raw sugar
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 1/4 cup soy milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix the coconut oil with the sugar until creamy then stir in the applesauce and soy milk
  2. Add the flours, salt and baking powder, then spoon the batter into a 9-inch baking pan, greased or lined with baking paper
  3. Top the batter with apple slices and sprinkle with cinnamon
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 375F for 30-40 minutes
  5. Let it cool in the pan before serving
