Ingredients
Makes about 2 cups
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup dried mixed fruit
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup apple juice
Method
- In a large saucepan, combine the water, dried fruit, lemon juice and cinnamon
- Cover and bring toa boil over high heat
- Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 20 minutes
- Remove from the heat and set aside to cool, 15 minutes, then transfer to a blender or food processor and process until smooth
- Add the apple juice and process until blended
- Return the sauce to the saucepan and heat on low until warm
- Store leftover sauce covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days
