Western Sourdough Flapjacks Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. white sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tbsp. butter (real butter preferred)
  • 1/2 cup milk 2 tsp. vinegar

Method

  1. Preheat skillet
  2. Pour vinegar in the milk and let it set a few minutes (mixture will be lumpy)
  3. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl
  4. Add remaining ingredients
  5. Use a big plastic dipper and dip 3/4 spoonful of flapjack mix into hot skillet
  6. Turn heat to just below medium
  7. Cook until golden brown
  8. Add syrup and butter
  9. Just like on the trail and not half the trouble
