Ingredients
Makes 4 servings
- 8 ounces tempeh
- 2 tablespoons canola or grapeseed oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
Method
- In a medium saucepan of simmering water, cook the tempeh for 30 minutes
- Set aside to cool, then pat dry and cut it into 1/8-inch strips
- In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat
- Add the tempeh slices and fry on both sides until browned, about 3 minutes per side
- Drizzle with the soy sauce and liquid smoke, being careful not to splatter
- Turn the tempeh to coat
- Serve hot
