Sweet And Sour Halibut Seafood Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds halibut
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 tablespoons oil
  • 1 onion — thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper — cut diagonally into 1/2″ strips

SAUCE

  • 2/3 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
  • 8 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • dash seafood seasoning (to taste).

Method

  1. Cut halibut into 1-inch cubes
  2. Mix together flour, salt and pepper
  3. Dust fish with flour mixture and set aside while you prepare the sauce
  4. Sauce: Mix cornstarch and water together in ajar and shake well
  5. Add to rest of sauce ingredients in small saucepan
  6. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens slightly and comes to a boil
  7. Keep warm over a double boiler
  8. To prepare halibut/veggies: Heat small amount of oil in a wok or fry pan
  9. Add halibut and quickly stir fry
  10. Push fish up sides of wok or remove and keep warm
  11. Add onions and green pepper and stir fry only until crisp-tender
  12. Mix fish and vegetables together and add sauce
  13. Serve with plain steamed rice
