French Canadian Meat Pie

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. ground pork
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 large potato
  • salt and pepper.
  • a dash of nutmeg.
  • poultry seasoning (add to suit individual taste).
  • double pie crust.

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Saute chopped onion
  3. Cook meat thoroughly, and skim off excess fat
  4. Boil and mash the potato
  5. Mix with onion and meat blend in the seasonings
  6. Add a little water if mixture seems dry
  7. Simmer about 1 hour then pour into crust
  8. Bake until crust is golden brown
