Steak Mandarin Recipe

Ingredients

  • Serving Size : 4
  • 3/4 pound flank steak
  • 1 tablespoon dry sherry
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 sweet green pepper, whole
  • 8 1/2 ounces waterchestnuts, canned – drained
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 16 ounces bean sprouts – canned, drained
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 11 ounces mandarin oranges – canned, drained

Method

  1. Cut flank steak diagonally into paper thin strips.
  2. 1×1/2×1/4 inch.
  3. Marinate steak in sherry and soy sauce about 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in cornstarch to coast each piece.
  5. Meanwhile, wash and cup pepper, remove seeds and cut into 1×1/2 inch wide strips to make 1/2 cup.
  6. Cut waterchestnuts into 1/4 inch thick slices.
  7. In a skillet or wok, heat remaining oil, stir-fry steak until it turns grey, return vegetables to skillet stir-fry until heated through
  8. Mix in mandarin oranges, heat and serve.
  9. Makes 4 or 5 servings.
