Ingredients
- 1 cup (160 g) sliced onion
- ½ cup (50 g) chopped celery
- ¾ cup (113 g) green bell pepper, sliced in rings
- 1 pound (455 g) beef round steak
- 2 tsps dried parsley
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp (9 g) dry mustard
- 1 tbsp (7.5 g) chili powder
- 1 cup (180 g) no-salt-added diced tomatoes
- 2 tsps minced garlic
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
Method
- Put half of onion, celery, and green pepper in slow cooker
- Cut steak into serving-size pieces
- Place steak pieces in slow cooker
- Put remaining onion, celery, and green pepper over steak
- Combine remaining ingredients
- Pour over meat
- Cover and cook on low 8 hours
- Yield: 4 servings
- Per serving: 214 g water; 192 calories (21% from fat, 58% from protein, 21% from carb)
- Serve over noodles or rice
