Pressure/Manual (Low) Natural/Quick Release
- 1 pound salmon fillet
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- ½ to 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- salt and black pepper
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Method
- Place the salmon in a 6-inch round heatproof pan
- In a small bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes and season with salt and black pepper
- Whisk to combine
- Pour the mixture over the salmon
- Allow the salmon to sit at room temperature for 15 to 30 minutes
- Pour the water into the Instant Pot
- Place a steamer rack in the pot
- Place the pan with the salmon on the rack
- Secure the lid on the pot
- Close the pressure-release valve
- Select MANUAL and set the pot at LOW pressure for 3 minutes
- At the end of the cooking time, allow the pot to sit undisturbed for 5 minutes, then release any remaining pressure
- Sprinkle with the sesame seeds
- Serve the salmon immediately, or transfer it to a baking sheet and broil for 3 to 4 minutes to get a glossy, browned finish
