Ingredients
- 1 ring or about 2 lbs. or Portuguese sausage, sliced
- 1 med. onion, chopped
- 1/4 c. olive oil
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 8 c. water
- 1 (10 oz.) box frozen sugar peas or broccoli (optional)
Method
- Saute until the sausage is almost done
- Add the can tomato sauce and water
- Cook for 3/4 hour
- Then add 3 cups of uncooked rice
- Let simmer until all the water is gone
- Can also be made with chicken or shrimp instead of the sausage
