Ingredients
- 5 lbs. flour
- 1 doz. eggs
- 1 3/4 qt. milk
- 2 lbs. sugar
- 4 envelopes yeast
- 2 tbsp. salt
- 1 1/4 sticks butter
- 1/2 lb. Crisco shortening
Method
- Mix yeast per directions
- Melt butter and Crisco and set aside
- Liquefy milk and sugar; set aside
- Beat eggs with butter/Crisco mixture
- Add sugar and milk mixture
- Add all of this to flour and salt
- Mix with fingers
- Slightly thin
- Add yeast and finish mixing
- Let rise for 3 hours
- Bake for 35 minutes at 275 degrees
